Introduction
REQUIRES RELEASE: 1.170 or higher.
We have created a connection watchdog in our kiosk software that will monitor internet connectivity at a specified interval.
If router has no internet connection over a period that is longer than specified offline time then kiosk software will send reboot command to router to try to resolve the issue.
Settings
RASEntryName:
Router type, normal value RUT950
RASConnectionCheck:
Specifies the interval and offline time before reboot like this:
<MinuteInterval>|<MinuteOfflineTime>
Example: 5|120 for offline check interval of every 5minutes and 120 minutes offline time until reboot is performed.
Defualt value is empty string which means connection check is turned OFF
Considerations:
- Will not work if kiosk computer doesn't have connection with router
- Minimum interval is 2 minutes
- Minimum offline time before reboot is 60 minutes
- If reboot conditions below is not meet, then will be attempted next interval
Reboot condition Instant Cooler / Instant Inventory:
- No customer or Merchandiser logged in and Reboot time has passed
Reboot condition Store:
No customer or Merchandiser in store and Reboot time has passed
