If a welcome screen is accidentally rotated — for example, from portrait to landscape mode or vice versa — it must be corrected manually.
To fix this, start by connecting to the unit’s main computer using VNC. This is typically the device with a public IP or accessible via a kiosk ID through the VNC repeater.
From the main computer, launch a locally installed VNC client and connect to the internal IP of the welcome screen. (Contact support if you need the password for this step.)
Once connected, hold Shift and press the Windows key inside the remote session window (not your local machine, but the second VNC session from the main computer to the welcome screen).
This should bring up the Task Manager. Click File → Run new task, and enter explorer.exe
This will restart Windows Explorer on the welcome screen.
You can now close the web browser window and adjust the screen orientation the usual way in Windows — right-click the desktop, go to Display settings, and choose the correct rotation.
When done, perform a remote reboot of the welcome screen. This ensures it starts without Windows Explorer but with the correct browser in fullscreen mode, now displaying content in the proper orientation.
