Overview
Beginning in early 2026, Teltonika routers will ship with unique administrator passwords instead of a universal default password. This guide outlines the steps needed to ensure kiosk software can properly access and configure these new routers.
Configuration
Accessing Router Settings
Starting with InventoryOS version 1.526, you can update router passwords directly from the merchandiser page:
- Log in to the merchandiser page
- Navigate to Utilities → Router
Password Management Process
For routers with default passwords (older models):
When the kiosk starts, the software automatically detects connectivity to the router and attempts authentication using the default password. If successful, it will automatically change the password to a new one.
For routers with unique passwords (2026 models and later):
The default password authentication will fail. You must manually configure the password:
- In the Router tab, enter the router's unique password
- Click Set Password
- Wait approximately 10 seconds for password validation to complete
- Click Check to refresh and verify the connection status
The validity of the password will be indicated by an icon inside the password field.
